Type 5 -
Endless Web Slings
Endless Slings
– Most versatile of web slings; may be used in any of the
three hitches including vertical, basket or choker. Simply
by moving the contact area of the nylon sling you can
decrease the wear and
tear on your sling drastically. It may be used to increase
load balance when used in a choker or basket hitch.

Operating Practices ANSI B30.9

Whenever any sling is used, the following practices shall be
observed:
- Each day before being used, the
sling shall be inspected. Damaged or defective slings
shall be removed from service.
- Slings that are damaged or
defective shall NOT be used.
- Slings shall NOT be shortened
with knots or bolts or other makeshift devices.
- Sling legs shall NOT be kinked.
- Slings shall NOT be loaded in
excess of their rated capacities.
- Slings used in a basket hitch
shall have the loads balanced to prevent slippage.
- Slings shall be securely
attached to their load.
- Suspended loads shall be kept
clear of all obstruction.
- All personnel shall be kept
clear of loads about to be lifted and of suspended
loads.
- Hands or fingers shall NOT be
placed between the sling and its load while the sling is
being tightened around the load.
- Shock loading is prohibited!
- A sling shall NOT be pulled
from under a load when the load is resting on the sling.

Type 6 -
Reverse Eye Web Slings
Reverse
Eye - These slings are built for rugged use. Both sides of
the body are protected with abrasion resistant nylon to give
longer life in rough applications.
The eyes can be turned inside-out to give a new wear
surface.
